The 47th Micro and Nano Engineering Conference in Torino (September 20-23) saw Exaddon exhibiting in the expo area throughout the event, as well as presenting in the speaker presentations. As is increasingly common during this new era of conference attendance, the event was in hybrid format, with an online booth within a virtual expo area, and of course the in-person live event.

Exaddon electrochemist Dr Patrik Schürch presented new findings around our gold 3D printing capabilities in his talk "On-chip microscale 3D printing of gold via locally confined electrodeposition".

The focus piece of Dr Schürch’s talk, a 3D printed gold arc linking two separate tracks of a PCB, was 3D printed in situ on the conductive surface of the PCB tracks, a unique capability of our CERES system, and one which is not possible with other microscale metal AM technology. This capability is due to the very localised method of electrodeposition which CERES uses; the print tip can locate existing structures on the print surface with <5 µm accuracy. Printing can then take place; depending on user requirements, resolution of the printed object can be <1 µm.

The celebration event of the final evening of the conference was held at the Palazzina di caccia of Stupinigi, pictured in the above slides.
